What is Audio-Lingua ? A collaborative bank of authentic audio resources, recorded by native speakers, for a freely pedagogical or personal use, according to the rights of use which are detailed in the legal notice.

Audio documents ? The mp3 files are classified according to the reference levels defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. You can listen to the audio files online, download them one after another or also register to the podcast. For more details, read this article How does it work ?.

Collaborative ? It means that any person who feels interested may contribute by sending personal audio documents. Fill in the form.

Authentic ? For they are only made by native speakers (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian or Chinese) ! All accents can be useful.

Aim ? To train oral comprehension for anyone who would like to improve this language skill. To provide language teachers with authentic resources.

Busuu.com is an online community of people who love learning languages. The busuu website contains materials for people learning English, French, German, Spanish, Portugese, Italian and Russian. There are interactive language courses and lessons, and opportunities to practice your language skills with other members of the busuu community. You can join busuu.com free.

And, best of all,  there is a special Listen to English group on busuu where you can discuss and write about the topics in Listen to English podcasts and other language material.

There is a new feature on Listen to English which allows you to download podcasts direct to your iPhone or other Smart Phone.

Below each podcast there is a link “Download to your SmartPhone”. Click the link to display a QR barcode. If your phone has a camera, an internet connection and a barcode reader, the phone will be able to read the barcode and download the podcast mp3.

This feature is still experimental. Please let Peter Carter know if you find it useful, and if you find any problems with it.

You can download the podcasts to your computer, or subscribe using a programme such as iTunes or Yahoo, or simply listen to them by clicking the Flash player on the web page beneath each episode.

You can put the podcasts onto your iPod or MP3 player, and listen to them on your way to school or work.

The full text of each podcast is on this site (and will also appear on your iPod screen), so you can look up the meanings of words that you do not understand in a dictionary.

ESL PodEnglish as a Second Language” Podcast is for everyone who wants to improve their English speaking and listening skills.Who is ESLPod.com?ESLPod.com is run by a team of experienced English as a Second Language professors with over 30 years of high school, adult, and university ESL teaching experience. Dr. Lucy Tse writes scripts and story ideas for the podcasts, and records many of the dialogs and stories. The host for the podcast is Dr. Jeff McQuillan, who helps read the scripts and provides explanations for them.

Both Dr. Tse and Dr. McQuillan received a Ph.D. in applied linguistics and education at the University of Southern California. Dr. Tse was a professor of applied linguistics and education at Loyola Marymount University, Arizona State University, and California State University, Los Angeles. Dr. McQuillan was a professor of applied linguistics at California State University, Fullerton, and Arizona State University. Both are currently Senior Researchers at the Center for Educational Development, the sponsor of ESLPod.com.

  2. For Internet Explorer: Select Save Target As… (for Firefox: Save Link As).
  3. When you see the Save box, note where you are saving it and click Save.
  4. Find the downloaded file and double-click it or import it into your computer’s audio player.
